OSSINING, New York – In honor of National Hospice Month in November, Phelps Hospice, a service of Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, will present its second annual jazz concert, “Lost and Found,” on Sunday, November 8 from 3-5 pm at the Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Avenue in Ossining. Organized by Dr. Bruce Heckman, founder and medical director of Phelps Hospice, the concert is free and open to the public.

Last year, Dr. Heckman, who has been a lyricist for the past few years and has many connections in the music world, organized a jazz concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Phelps Hospice. The concert was so well received that he decided to move it into a larger venue this year. “Our goal is to increase attendance to 800 and move into the Tarrytown Music Hall!” says Dr. Heckman.

Performing at the concert will be jazz vocalists Melissa Walker, Tessa Souter and Robert Silverman. Walker recently appeared at the Kennedy Center as part of a “Women in Jazz” program, and Souter’s recently released CD “Obsession” has been very well received.

They will be accompanied by musicians Ron McClure on bass, Ron Blake on saxophone, Rob Silverman on piano and Scott Hamilton on drums. McClure has played with jazz greats including Miles Davis and Sara Vaughan, and all of the performers appear regularly in clubs throughout the New York area.
