NEW YORK, New York -- Looking for an exciting culinary adventure? Try taking the train to the restaurants of your choice during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, coming up March 15-28. Of the more than 130 restaurants participating, over 30 are located within easy walking distance of Metro-North train stations on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines.

The Hudson Valley’s largest and most successful dining promotion, Hudson Valley Restaurant Week offers three-course prix-fixe lunches at $20 and/or dinners at $28.

“The Hudson Valley food scene is home to some of the best chefs in America,” says Janet Crawshaw, Hudson Valley Restaurant Week organizer and publisher of The Valley Table magazine, the recognized authority on all things food related in the Hudson Valley.   “We are delighted to partner with MTA Metro-North in inviting people from throughout the New York Metro area to discover the culinary pleasures of the Hudson Valley.”

“It’s easy to take Metro-North up from the city or down from points north to enjoy many of the restaurants participating in Hudson Valley Restaurant Week,” says Donna Haynes, manager of promotional partnerships at Metro-North. “Commuters can enhance their evening commute by hopping off the train for a great dinner and back on to continue their travel home.”

Restaurants located within walking distance of Metro-North stations include Xaviar’s X20 on the Yonkers City Pier,  “42” on top of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in White Plains, Café of Love in Mt. Kisco, Harvest on Hudson in Hastings-on-Hudson, Iron Horse Grill in Pleasantville, Morgan’s Fish House in Rye, Hudson House River Inn in Cold Spring, McKinney and Doyle Fine Foods Café in Pawling, Shadows on the Hudson in Poughkeepsie, and Elm Street Oyster House in nearby Greenwich, CT.

In addition to bargain dining in fine restaurants, many hotels and bed and breakfasts are offering specially discounted rates during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. For more information on lodging opportunities and a list of restaurants indicating which are near Metro-North stations, go to www.HudsonValleyRestaurantWeek.com.
