Dr. Rajat Sanyal, a cardiologist at Phelps Memorial Hospital, has been selected to serve along with 200 cardiologists nationwide on a new research panel of the American College of Cardiology.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, New York – Dr. Rajat S. Sanyal of White Plains, a cardiologist at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and a member of the Phelps medical board, has been selected by the American College of Cardiology to serve a two-year term on a research panel along with 200 other cardiologists nationwide.
As a member of the CardioSurve research panel, which is a new initiative for the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Sanyal will provide his unique thoughts and perspective on key issues that affect cardiologists, their patients and the profession.
From 1989 to 1993, during a noninvasive cardiology fellowship at University of Alabama in Birmingham, Dr. Sanyal worked with Navin C. Nanda, MD, a pioneer in the field of echocardiography. During the fellowship, Dr. Sanyal did original work on anatomical planes, orientation and identification of cardiac structures by transesophageal echocardiography. This work has become the standard for performing modern-day transesophageal echocardiography.
Dr. Sanyal is board certified in cardiovascular disease and is past president of the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin. He has private offices in Dobbs Ferry and Briarcliff Manor.
