KATONAH, New York -- The Gold Standard, a full-service marketing communications firm here, has received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization (WPEO), a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
WBENC’s national standard of certification, implemented by WPEO, is a meticulous process that includes an in-depth review of the business and an on-site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm that a business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
By including certified women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and to the continued development of their supplier diversity programs.
The Gold Standard, founded by Nancy Gold in 1992, provides marketing communications services to a wide range of clients, including large and small businesses and organizations throughout the Hudson Valley. Services provided include strategic planning, advertising, press relations, website development, graphic design, video production and special events.
Nancy Gold is actively engaged in encouraging entrepreneurship among women. She serves on the board of the Women’s Enterprise Development Center, Inc., and is co-chair of the Alliance of Hudson Valley Women Business Owners.
In addition to the national WBENC certification, The Gold Standard is also certified as a woman-owned business by New York State and New York City, allowing the firm to do business more easily with state and city agencies.
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council is the nation’s largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States. WBENC is a resource for the more than 700 US companies and government agencies that rely on WBENC’s certification as an integral part of their supplier diversity programs.
