WHITE PLAINS, New York --- Deborah Brenner, founder of Women of the Vine Cellars and author of Women of the Vine, will discuss “Resiliency in Challenging Times” when she gives the keynote speech at the 11th Annual Women’s Business Networking Event, Tuesday, November 17 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Brenner will speak about how to maintain resilience, flexibility and a positive approach that will help entrepreneurs position their businesses for increased growth and productivity as the economy recovers.
The event is organized by the Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) and its affiliate, the Alliance of Hudson Valley Women Business Owners, and will be held at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Westchester headquarters at 2000 Westchester Avenue in Purchase.
This premier networking event is designed to be a business-building opportunity in which women entrepreneurs can network, meet prospective clients, and build strategic alliances. Participants will share ideas about resiliency through facilitated small roundtable discussion groups.
Sponsors of the 2009 Networking Event are the Women’s Enterprise Development Center, the Alliance of Hudson Valley Women Business Owners, Susan Feitelberg and Charles Day of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Westchester County Business Journal and HVBiz.
Deborah Brenner, the keynote speaker, was inspired to create the first winery of its kind, a gallery of artisan women winemakers designed to showcase their individual styles and nuances of their regions, while writing her book, Women of the Vine. Prior to unleashing her entrepreneurial spirit in the wine business, Brenner ran her own marketing and public relations firm and for 16 years traveled the world as a marketer of computer technology used by TV and film studios.
Brenner was named one of the “People of the Year” by Rockland Magazine in 2007 and was a recipient of the “40 under 40” award given by the Rockland County Economic Development Corporation. She was recently awarded the NY Small Business Administration (SBA) 2009 Women in Business Champion of the Year.
The Women’s Enterprise Development Center and its affiliate, the Alliance of Hudson Valley Women Business Owners, work together to provide women with the training, tools, and resources they need to achieve economic self-sufficiency through small business ownership.
Since 2003, WEDC has been a designated women’s business center by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), serving women entrepreneurs in Westchester County and the Lower Hudson Valley. WEDC is also the designated New York Empire State Development Corporation EAP (Entrepreneurial Assistance Program) Center for Westchester County.
